Answers to common questions about Principal Seat.

How does sync work?

Principal Seat syncs across your devices through your own iCloud account, and sync is included in the free plan. With Premium, your Apple Watch companion stays in step too. Sign in to the same Apple Account on each device and make sure iCloud is turned on for the app in Settings.

Can I use the app without sharing my data with you?

Yes. The app keeps your data on your device and in your own iCloud account. We do not receive it. Emails you send us are used only to reply, or to tell you when the app launches. See the privacy policy.

Does the app read my email, my calendar or the web?

No. The app does no scanning of the web or of your accounts. Its research and comparison prompts work with the AI chatbot you already use, or with a human advisor. You paste the reply back and the fields fill in. If you want live information, you can connect your own assistant to your own email, calendar and LinkedIn. The app itself does not run or host any AI.

Is there a free trial of Premium?

Yes. Premium is free for 14 days on the monthly and yearly plans, once the app is released. Premium features appear dimmed with a gold crown in the free app, and nothing is hidden. If you do nothing, the trial converts to a paid subscription at the price of the plan you chose. To avoid being charged, cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends. See plans.

What does Premium cost?

$14.99 a month, $99 a year, or a $59 six month pass. The monthly and yearly plans renew automatically until you cancel. The six month pass is a one time purchase that does not renew and has no free trial. Prices are in US dollars and may change before release.

How do I cancel?

Cancel in your Apple Account settings (Settings, your name, Subscriptions), at least 24 hours before the current period or the trial ends. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. The six month pass does not renew, so there is nothing to cancel. See the Terms of Use.

What does Free include?

Free includes 5 live opportunities, one file import, and one full run of the offer checklist and the equity model on one opportunity. The compensation lock is free for everyone, and you may switch it off. Premium adds unlimited opportunities and imports, the offer checklist and equity model on every opportunity, and side by side offer comparison.

How do I import my existing data?

You can import from a file or from Contacts. When importing from Contacts, you choose which contacts to bring in. Free includes one file import. Premium includes unlimited file imports.

What is the Inbox?

Share or paste an email, PDF or text file into the app. It suggests the opportunity the item belongs to, and you choose where to file it. The full email stays in the timeline entry. A private forwarding address is planned but not available yet.

How do I track how I am doing in my current role?

Open My current role and set where you are now, then use the role tracker to see time in role and what is expected of you at 30, 60 and 90 days, about one year and about 18 months. Check-ins keep a short record of wins, concerns and feedback.

What happens to the follow-up when I cancel or reschedule a call?

It stays. When you cancel a call the app asks whether to keep the follow-up, change its date or remove it. Rescheduling moves the call and keeps the follow-up.

How do I export my data?

Use Export my data in Settings. You get a zip with a folder for each opportunity. Compensation is left out unless you switch it on. This is separate from the prompt exports for your own AI or an advisor.

Is there a Mac app?

A Mac version is planned alongside iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch. Principal Seat is coming soon on the App Store and is not yet available on any of them. Use Notify me at launch on the home page to hear when it is.

Why not a spreadsheet or Notion?

You can, and for a few roles a sheet is fine. Principal Seat adds calls, emails and follow-ups tied to each opportunity, offers tested next to your current role, a role tracker for after you start, and a private iCloud-only design. It does not replace a blank canvas, it has a point of view, and it is for Apple devices only, with no web version. If you love your own setup, keep it. Export my data gives you a zip.
